Ashley Thomas is the Senior Director of Community Impact and Organizing at RISE INDY.
She is an Indianapolis native whose passion for education and advocacy led her speak up for her three children—and later to work every day to ensure all students in IPS have access to quality schools that meet their needs. She is the mother of 3 children who inspire her to do great work to improve access to quality education across Indiana. She believes that quality education should be a natural right for all children. In her most recent role, she managed a team of organizers that empowered and mobilized parents and uplifted Black and brown students and students from low-income communities. She has worked with hundreds of families across Indiana to bridge the gaps of access that some families face to navigate the education system. She also has extensive experience with local campaigns and campaign planning.
