DEVIN WRIGHT

As the Manager of Special Projects at RISE INDY, Devin Wright brings experience in research, strategy, and community engagement to advance educational equity in Indianapolis. Devin’s work focuses on managing initiatives like the Board Governance Training, conducting critical policy research, and supporting communication efforts. With a deep commitment to education justice, Devin works to ensure that students remain at the heart of decision-making processes.

Devin’s passion for education advocacy is rooted in a strong academic background and personal dedication to community service. Devin holds an M.A. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, and a B.A. in Political Science and French from Spelman College. She has developed expertise in research design, racial and ethnic politics, and data analysis, supporting undergraduates through mentorship programs, and fostering collaboration within academic and community groups.

A proud Indiana native and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Devin has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to public service and uplifting marginalized communities. She has worked with local organizations like Cuddle Kiddies Childcare Academy and Dayspring Center, where she organized educational opportunities for underserved children and families. These experiences shaped Devin’s belief in the transformative power of education and the need to bridge systemic gaps that prevent students from achieving their full potential.

Devin is proficient in multiple research tools and uses these skills to broaden the impact of her work. She is dedicated to creating opportunities for students to thrive and to empowering communities to demand and achieve systemic change in education.
