KAMILAH HATCHER

In her position at RISE INDY, Kamilah Hatcher cultivates connections with students, teachers and school leaders.

With over 15 years of experience as a professional educator, Kamilah taught at schools in New York and Los Angeles. She has a decade of expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives as well as anti-biased education for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. In the classroom, Kamilah created a safe space for students to flourish and develop a love for learning. Through an enthusiastic and animated style of instruction, she supported students as they created their own pathways to success. She allowed them to think creatively as they developed a love for learning. As a skilled mediator and problem solver, Kamila created a positive and emotionally healthy work environment for both parents and staff. 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Ball State University.
