SHCARLETT ESTRADA

As an organizer at RISE INDY, Shcarlett works to inform and empower families to engage in childhood education. Her goal is to ensure that all children have equal access to the resources and opportunities necessary to receive a high-quality education. She is driven to use her abilities to enact positive change in her community.

As a child of immigrant parents, Shcarlett grew up seeing the hardships of language barriers and time-consuming jobs. She observed that many parents lack knowledge of how the education system works and the tools to fight injustice. She joined RISE INDY to use her skills to help other families advocate for educational opportunities for the children in their communities. Shcarlett is committed to the idea that a high-quality education is indispensable.

Shcarlett is bilingual and is a recent graduate of The Excel Center as a Microsoft Office Specialist. The mother of two beautiful children, she believes that her responsibility is not only to care and provide for them, but also to equip them with the tools they need to succeed and thrive, including a high-quality education.
