Nyvea Summers

As the Senior Manager of Operations at RISE INDY, Nyvea ensures the organization runs effectively and efficiently to support its mission of empowering families and communities. She focuses on building systems and structures that drive impact and sustainability, equipping the RISE INDY team with the tools they need to operate efficiently and effectively. Nyvea firmly believes that strengthening RISE INDY’s operational foundation enables the organization to amplify the needs of Indianapolis communities and improve educational outcomes for all students.

Nyvea attended several IPS schools before transitioning to Wayne Township from 3rd through 12th grade. At a young age, she observed significant differences between traditional IPS schools and Township schools, where she had access to a broader range of programs, resources, extracurricular activities, and opportunities. This experience shaped her understanding of educational inequities and fueled her passion for ensuring that all children have access to high-quality education and resources.

Deeply committed to empowering families, Nyvea believes that every voice matters. She recognizes that families—and their children’s futures—are profoundly influenced by leadership and advocacy. Through her work, she strives to ensure RISE INDY remains a catalyst for change, helping families step out of the shadows and into active roles in shaping their communities and securing brighter futures for their children.
